Now that the low sulfur diesel has been out in the fuel supply we are getting feedback about a few problems & cautions. 
1) Water tends to mix in with this fuel more rather than separating. This can harm injectors & encourage microbial growth.
2) Diesel with the higher sulfur content actually helped to inhibit microbial growth, the newer low sulfur content does less for the obvious reason.
3) Killing these microbes with a treatment can create another type of problem. The waste product can turn to an acid sludge at the bottom of the tank and can be corrosive to the fuel system over time
